Generate and edit videos with Sora 2 through the OpenAI Videos API or Microsoft Foundry's OpenAI v1 endpoint. Requests are asynchronous and are polled until they complete.

OpenAI has deprecated the native Sora 2 models and Videos API and currently lists September 24, 2026 as the shutdown date. Microsoft Foundry availability may differ.

OpenAI uses https://api.openai.com/v1. Foundry uses https://<resource>.openai.azure.com/openai/v1 or a Foundry project endpoint. For Foundry generation, enter the deployment name in the model field.

Microsoft Foundry currently documents 720x1280 and 1280x720 at 4, 8, or 12 seconds. Higher resolutions require sora-2-pro on OpenAI.
